Ex-Brown Shipley Edinburgh boss Graham Auld dies

Former Brown Shipley Edinburgh wealth management boss Graham Auld has passed away.

Auld, a leading figure in Scottish wealth who helped shape the industry in the decades up to his retirement in 2012, died last week.

In a statement shared via its Linkedin profile, Brown Shipley said:  'We are very saddened to hear of the passing of a highly regarded and popular former colleague, Graham Auld.

'Graham was instrumental in the creation of our Edinburgh office back in 2008 and played a key leadership role in developing our presence in Scotland until his retirement in 2012.

'Graham will be remembered fondly by all those colleagues who worked with him for his colourful personality that shone through in everything he did. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.'

Auld's began his career in 1967 with Baillie Gifford. He went on to work at Edinburgh Fund Managers, Bank of Scotland, National Australia Bank and Deutsche Bank.

He joined Brown Shipley alongside Victoria Drysdale from Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management, formerly Tilney, to launch its Edinburgh office in 2008.

Under his watch the business attracted £240 million and completed two acquisitions, the investment management arms of Lindsays in 2009 and Gillespie MacAndrew in 2011.
