Citywire Fixed Income Retreat 2019:

A summary of events at this year's Fixed Income Retreat.

Citywire Fixed Income Retreat 2019:

The Citywire events calendar is back with a bang for 2019, kicking off with our Fixed Income Retreat. Not only is it our one international event hosted in the UK, but also the only event focused purely on one asset class. We’ll leave you to guess which one.

Set against the beautiful Hampshire hills backdrop at the Four Seasons, we gathered over 60 fixed income specialists from firms across Europe to discuss strategies and markets with 12 top fund houses. With strategies ranging from structured credit to index investing, delegates were certainly spoiled for choice.

We had the pleasure of welcoming three key note speakers to the stage over the two days.

Economist, author and co-founder of Equitile, George Cooper, took the stage on the first morning explaining Trump versus Powell dynamics in ‘The Fight For The Fed’ and what this may mean for financial markets.

After a busy morning of workshops, author of many bestselling books and physicist, Simon Singh captivated the audience after lunch. Discussing the various hidden mathematics in ‘The Simpsons’ and the origin of the universe, it was not one to be missed.

Workshops, followed by dinner and drinks encapsulated the rest of the day before kicking-off bright and early the next day with the Guardian’s puzzle-master Alex Bellos. Classic conundrums and brain teasers not only perplexed, but entertained too.

A massive thank you to everyone who travelled to be with us, whether you flew in from all corners of the continent or headed over from London.

See you next year!
