As part of the ongoing strengthening of its equity offering Aviva Investors has appointed Aaron Armstrong to its global emerging market equities team.
Armstrong joins Aviva Investors from Alquity Investment Management, where he worked as a senior analyst in the Asian investment team.
He will take up the role of portfolio manager and will report to Alistair Way, head of global emerging market equities.
The appointment is the latest in a string of hires in the equity team following the appointment of David Cumming (pictured) as chief investment officer, equities, in January from Standard Life Investments (SLI). Aviva Investors made nine hires to its UK, global and emerging market equities teams in July, in addition to the hiring of Susan Schmidt as head of US equities in October.
‘In a competitive market with increasing divergence in company performance, sound stock selection will be key to delivering the investment outcomes our clients seek,’ said Way.
‘Aaron has a strong track record in Asian mid-cap stock picking, which I am confident will enhance idea generation for our suite of global emerging market strategies.’
