My alarm goes off:
The first alarm goes off at 6:53 a.m., then 6:55, 6:58… It drives my fiancé mad, and eventually I leave the bed around 7:08 (precision!).
I’m responsible for:
Looking after my clients and managing their investments on their behalf (nearly £70 million in AUM).
The worst part of my job:
Every firm faces the same issues: internal systems and administrative burdens.
The best part of my job:
I meet the most amazing people through my work. I truly enjoy helping them to achieve their dreams.
I got the job:
I joined the firm in January 2015.
I’ve been in the role for:
I joined as a trainee, and I qualified as a manager in April 2016.
How long is your commute to work?
Only 13 minutes door-to-door. Londoners, you must be jealous of this!
Tea vs coffee?
Coffee. A big cup with milk. No sugar – my life is sweet enough!
Typical lunch choice?
I am very organised and prepare my food in advance so it fits my macronutrient requirements (I count calories, protein, carbohydrates and fats).
I certainly enjoy an occasional deviation, but sticking to my plan delivers phenomenal results. At the moment, I will just grab whatever is nearest on-the-go or have something during a lunch meeting.
I do compensate for my poor lunch routine somewhat with a good breakfast and dinner. That’s diversification, right?
I am a competitive powerlifter, and I spend 14 hours per week in the gym. It is a very powerful feeling to be strong, and it definitely helps to stand firm on both feet. My heaviest single lift to date is a deadlift of 175kg!
What are you reading at the moment?
Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment. However, I have to admit I am nearly at a giving-up stage – it was much easier to read it in Lithuanian.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
RuPaul’s Drag Race and shopping.
What’s the biggest challenge you face day-to-day in your role?
How to maximise my productivity and fit more into my day!
You are hosting a dinner party this evening. Which three people would you invite and what are you cooking?
RuPaul, Lady Gaga, Justin Trudeau and my fiancé. We would discuss how to build a better world through gender equality. My fiancé cooks steak to perfection (assuming that dinner party guests aren’t vegetarians) and I will make sure that everyone has a full glass of champagne.
What do you get up to out of the office?
I am always looking for new things to try. This weekend, I am on the dance floor learning how to vogue – and I was asked to participate in a bridal photoshoot. The latter will be perfect practise for our own wedding later this year. I would describe my life as anything but boring!
