Postgrads follow the path of parmos up north

Postgrads follow the path of parmos up north

Cheap living, Parmo takeaways and working as ‘whatever you want’ are incentives Darlington-based Postcard Planning is hoping will inspire bright graduates to join the firm.

Director Rohan Sivajoti is looking for graduates who want flexible working roles and a chance to define their own career path in the firm.

He told New Model Adviser®: ‘The most important thing for me is that they are willing to learn, and whether I can have a beer with them. With such a small company, they need to get on with me and have that kind of startup mentality, where they don’t mind doing a variety of rotational roles.’

The new hires will start out in administrative positions, but will be able to try their hand at paraplanning or shadowing client meetings with a view to pursuing a career as financial planners, should they so choose.

Other benefits Sivajoti hopes will attract ambitious graduates are the cheap prices up north and Darlington’s famed Parmo (a breaded cutlet dish traditionally consisting of chicken in breadcrumbs, topped with a white béchamel or parmesan sauce and cheese).
