Goodmans joins boat race to raise funds for air ambulance

Goodmans Financial Planning is raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust by competing in the charity’s dragon boat race.

The race, which features dragon-shaped boats of 18-20 paddlers, is now in its fifth year and has raised nearly £40,000 for the charity. This year’s event will take place on 23 September between 10am and 4pm on Exeter Quay.

Goodmans, which is based in Plymouth, Totnes and Exeter, has paid £360 for its boat out of its own funds, but is now hoping to raise £800 to donate to the lifesaving work done by the service.

During 2017 Devon’s two air ambulances flew for 720 hours in total, assisting 990 patients. Out of the flights it made, 7% were to places with no road access, and 8% of patients were taken to hospitals outside Devon.

At the time of writing the team had raised more than £200. To donate, visit here.
