Brewin's West End hire spree continues with Coutts hire

Brewin Dolphin has appointed another new wealth director to its West End branch as it continues to expand its 1762 advice offering following a spate of recent hires.

Anthony Rawlinson joins from Coutts & Co, where he worked for seven years as a discretionary portfolio manager.

He was previously head of private banking for Standard Chartered in Abu Dhabi. He started his career at N M Rothschild & Sons in London.

Rawlinson’s hire is the fifth recent addition to the new the high-end planning proposition. It follows that of fellow wealth director William Quantrill from Kleinwort Hambros last month.

That came after Furqan Sheikh joined the Mayfair office from Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management in January, and Rory Corstorphine and Keith Sheehan joined from UBS Wealth Management in December and September, respectively.

Nick Fitzgerald (pictured), Brewin Dolphin managing director of financial planning,  said: ‘In unprecedented times and with ongoing uncertainty, there is an ever-present need for overarching expert financial advice, which we seek to provide with trusted partners.

‘Anthony has considerable experience in facilitating fantastic care and value to his clients and will be a great asset to the team.’

The 1762 division was launched in November, shortly after Brewin reported a 9.7% rise in annual in pre-tax profit to £76.7 million.
