Beaufort bikers hit £250k charity milestone

The Reading-based Beaufort Financial office has raised £250,000 towards a new cancer treatment centre in Basingstoke.

The firm has supported the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke for four years through a number of funding initiatives. These include charity bike rides: the Ark to Arc ride (to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris) and the 874-mile route from John O’Groats to Lands’ End. It is currently planning another challenge this year.

Beaufort Financial (Reading) director Mark Dolby (pictured, left, with fellow director Chris Shaw) said: ‘For the fourth year, we are fund raising for the Ark Cancer Charity, which needs £5 million to build the cancer treatment hospital. We are pleased to say we have made great progress towards reaching this target.’

This year, the firm is also supporting the Berkshire Community Foundation, which raises funds for, and makes grants to, local charities and community groups in Berkshire. In addition, Beaufort is co-sponsoring Basingstoke Ladies rugby club with Clarke & Sons, a regional solicitors firm.
